Last December 2013, Banana Peel just released the first collection of flip flops for WWF Philippines. These statement flip flops are designed not just to make people aware of the current environmental situations present but actually enable citizens to participate in WWF’s advocacy. For every pair of flip flops sold from the Men’s and Ladies’ Marine Life collection, part of the proceeds go into funding marine conservation programs to help save our seas!

Aside from that, Banana Peel also tied up with the Department of Tourism to come up with a line of slippers highlighting the essence of Pinoy fun. Famous tourist destinations like Bohol, Boracay, and Cebu plus daily Filipino activities like commuting and merienda time are all incorporated in these witty slipper collections.

Despite having a busy schedule, I made it a point to spend time with my birthday boy. As a gift, I planned to treat him at Sambokojin. ( I mean myself, cause it’s free for birthday celebrants, haha) He picked me up at 10am before going to Southmall. When we arrived, the place is full and we were wait-listed. We were already very hungry since we didn’t eat breakfast. While waiting, we looked for glasses at the dept. store. He’s been having head aches and eye pains for weeks already so we really need to have his eyes checked. We found a very nice sunnies at SM Accessories that costs only P300. Then we went to EO to have the lenses replaced with clear graded ones. We had his eyes checked (finally!) for free. The lenses cost only P250 (regular ones) so all in all, we just spent P550. We were told that it will be done in an hour so while waiting, we went to the grocery to buy ingredients for spaghetti. I received a text message from Sambokojin that we’re next in line so we hurriedly walked to Sambokojin right after paying for groceries since we were already very hungry. Then finally, we were able to eat. I loved the variety of food! It took us 2 hours to finish everything. Went out with heavy tummies! We claimed D’s glasses then went straight to their house to cook. I had a meeting in the evening so I had to leave him. But to make up for that, I surprised him with a big coffee cake the following day.

Happy Birthday, Love!
